Premiere: Impey provides the dancefloor motivation with an erratic cut
Heavy release incoming on Astral Black
Impey doesn't mess around. His productions are rough, grinding instrumentals loaded with enough venom to lay out an entire dancefloor. Take 2014's 'Bangclap', for instance. It's aggressive, menacing and laced with the kind of creeping strings closely tied to the earliest and iconic grime cuts.
It's a genre firmly ingrained into the London-based producer's audio personality. '4titude', the B-side to 'Bangclap' on Sector 7 Sounds, is a no-holds-barred, trigger-happy explosion, while this year's 'Ho Gosh' from 'Peach Bits Vol. 2' brings jungle kicks into the equation to combine with the feeling of dreary, late-night, inner city bus journeys.
There's plenty more to his game, though. 'Midnight In Little Havana', his upcoming release on Scottish label Astral Black fuses searing soundscapes, bassline vibrance and the vigorous bounce of Jersey club.
'Pep Talk' is what we're delivering to you and Impey sure does provide enough motivation to kickstart movement on the dancefloor. Shots are fired from the word go and it continues to growl, rumble, smash and smack all the way through to result in one electrifying club cut.
'Midnight In Little Havana' is out tomorrow. Pre-order it here
