Premiere: Dixon crafts an unravelling ‘Uzoamaka’ edit

Dixon’s edits are the stuff of legend in clubland. The Innervisions honcho has a Midas touch when it comes to putting his spin on other artists’ tracks, and the results are always masterful.
In May we brought you his remix of Chloé’s ‘The Dawn, which flooded the low-ends with grumbling bass and ramped up the intensity of its atmospheric strings to devastating effect.
His next outing, an update of ‘Uzoamaka’ which features on a new package of King Britt edits coming out via Lossless and Something Happening Somewhere, is a more subtly powerful affair.
Dixon takes the Philadelphian artist’s raw, heartfelt celebration of dance music and gently reinforces the percussive line and vocal choir, turning it into a breathaking cut that unravels with purposeful impact. Listen below.
