Premiere: Chrissy launches label with a raw house cut ‘We Ain't Goin Nowhere’

Chicago DJ and producer Chrissy is set to launch his new label Cool Ranch, an outlet that will focus on the classic house sound of his native city.

Following releases on Classic, Freerange, Razor & Tape and La Mission, Chrissy takes a break from his duties running his label The Nite Owl Diner to launch Cool Ranch. The Smartbar resident now plans to deliver the raw essence of house on white label, limited, hand-stamped, vinyl-only releases via the new imprint.

On the inaugural release titled 'Cool Ranch 001', Chrissy delivers two originals, one of which is a slamming house track titled ‘We Ain't Goin Nowhere’. It’s a catchy disco-tinged melody, one that will undoubtedly inject life into any dancefloor.

When discussing the vision behind Cool Ranch, Chrissy reveals that it’s all about feel-good tracks: “This record, and the new label as a whole, are all about fun, happy-sounding party cuts. With all the negativity and too-cool-for-school posturing in the dance music scene, and the ever-darkening political climate weighing down on us all, sometimes it feels really important to have songs that sound joyous and positive and resilient, yknow?”

'Cool Ranch 001' is set for release on May 5 and also includes a remix from rising Detroit producer Pontchartrain.
