Portsmouth nightclub The Astoria had to be evacuated due to a fire
Around 1000 people had to leave the club
A Portsmouth nightclub was evacuated in the early hours of Wednesday (March 28) morning after a "serious" fire broke out.
Police and club staff had to help 1000 people leave The Astoria on Guildhall Walk at approximately 1.40am, but no casualties were reported.
It's thought the fire originated in the heating ducts in the ceiling above the dancefloor. It occurred during the Dirty Disco night, described by The Astoria as "Portsmouth's biggest mid-week club night".
The Astoria posted on Facebook last night, revealing it'll be business as usual from tonight (March 29) after electricians fixed the issue.
Artwork plays at the club tonight for Concrete Thursdays.
