Police shut down huge illegal rave with soundsystem "up to the ceiling" at a Norfolk abattoir

An illegal rave inside a Norfolk-based abattoir was stopped by police this weekend.

The rave began on Saturday night yet was halted after police stopped the music by cutting off the generator system that evening.

After the police left the scene, the ravers managed to restart the system which saw the party continuing until 4:PM the next day.

According to reports from Eastern Daily Press, the abattoir which is situated in the Norfolk-based village of Banham had a sound system set up that reached the ceiling.

Witnesses have claimed that six police cars were on the scene as well as a dozen officers who were stood at a distance from the event.

Chairman of the local parish council Jeff Burrell told EDP: “I drove past at about 11AM this morning, police were standing off at a safe distance but there were still people outside the abattoir.

“They were smoking and drinking but there wasn't any sign of trouble or problems. There were around six police cars and a dozen police personnel standing back from the revellers.”

Police contacted the local fire departments from East Harling, Attleborough and Diss to send units to help deal with the illegal rave.

Speakers that built up the sound system at the abattoir were left on the scene with nobody coming forth as the owners of the equipment therefore police plan to destroy it.

No serious disturbances were reported by any members of the public.
