Police get 'witty' after cancelling rave in Northern Ireland

Ravers blamed police for "ruining everyone's summer as always."

As if authorities cancelling a rave wasn't bad enough, police in Northern Ireland have decided to get 'witty' about free parties on social media too. Talk about adding salt to a wound. Police in Newry and Mourne got all shirty with Facebook users after some complained about the cancellation of an illegal rave near a quarry via the police station's page.

Whoever was at the helm of Newry and Mourne's page responded to one comment by saying they were "ruining everyone's summer as always." Perhaps a budding part time comic as well asa social media guru?

"Seriously we have ruined every young person's summer in the whole world ever by telling you not to go to an unlicensed, unregulated carry on in a field in the middle of the countryside which just happens to be close to a quarry, how mean are we?

"Perhaps your summer would be better if we let this go ahead and you go so off your face on drink and drugs that somehow you thought it was a good idea to try and fly off the cliff edge into the quarry. Excellent plan, I say not. Who's summer would that make so much better?"

The police might have riled those planning for a messy one but whoever was behind the comment might have just saved their bacon.
