Pioneer DJ has announced its new “performance sampler” the DJS-1000
It’s been made with the DJ in mind
Pioneer DJ has taken its first steps into the world of sampling with the unveiling of the DJS-1000.
Described as a performance sampler, the DJS-1000 is built like a CDJ but with a 16-pad interface rather than the traditional jog wheel and is intended for live use.
It comes with over 2500 built-in sounds from Loopmasters, meaning it can be played straight out of the box, and also plays samples loaded via USB and recorded via a stereo input.
It also has eight built-in effects ranging from filters to reverb, a touch strip that can be assigned to control these effects and a 16-step sequencer below the main pads. Like the CDJ it comes with tempo control.
The DJS-1000 can be linked to the CDJ2000NXS via a LAN connection so the sequencer can sync to whatever track is playing.
It will be available in November for £1169. Pre-order it here.
