Pig&Dan
Buckle up, this one gets bumpy
With ten years experience under their belts, techno duo Pig&Dan not only know how to experiment with deeper sounds, they also know how to work a crowd into a complete frenzy.
In 2014, Igor Tchkotoua and Dan Duncan released the ambient-tinged 'Destination Unknown' which soared to the top of the Beatport charts for over four months but now they return to the techno realm with 'Modular Baptism', a 15-track LP that brings everything back to the dancefloor.
If you've heard a Pig&Dan track on a soundsystem already then you know it that shakes both the floor and your bones so the prospect of a new album that's designed to do both of those things is a very exciting one.
There are a couple of clear stand-out tracks like 'Vangelism' and 'Now Or Never' but here we present to you 'Funk Of The Moog' and if you're searching for something dark and hellish, you're in for a treat.
Eerie murmurs and a punching kick greet you in the first few seconds and that sets the tone for the venomous cut. After a minute the rigorous low-end rumbles and bumps into the frame and before long it's all out warfare.
The whole thing explodes and once all the elements are introduced there's no turning back, you're placed slap bang in the danger zone. It's savage but boy is it brilliant.
Modular Baptism by Pig&Dan is released on March 28 via their own Elevate label
