Hear the Nicolas Jaar remix of Kanye West’s ‘Blood on the Leaves’
The rare remix surfaces as the soundtrack for a visual tribute
As Kanye’s newly titled 'The Life of Pablo' quickly approaches, he’s burst onto headlines one more time due to a Nicolas Jaar remix of his 2013 track ‘Blood on the Leaves’ surfacing.
The remix was initially commissioned to soundtrack a visual tribute to American conceptual artist Barbara Kruger, known for her appropriation of photographs and texts. Kruger is said to have requested the Kanye flip personally, as the video narrates her creative process and history.
‘Picturing Barbara Kruger’ premiered publicly at last year’s SXSW after being shown at the 2014 ART+FILM Gala. Nicolas Jaar’s ‘Blood on the Leaves’ rework can be heard in the video here.
