New York club Nowadays to open on-site Mexican restaurant
The Zumbador opens this week serving cross-continental cuisine
New York club Nowadays has opened a new restaurant arm of the venue, The Zumbador, opening this week (November 8).
The Mexican-inspired restaurant comes from Nowadays staff members Maria Bravo and Fernando Adan, a husband and wife duo serving food influenced by their home of Puebla in southeast Mexico.
The home-style cuisine also fuses Mexican flavours with Spanish, indigenous, and Middle Eastern influences, served alongside cocktails, beer, and a wine list that will rotate each month.

“Our wine list is curated by Fernelly Sarria,” says The Zubador. “Fernelly is part of the team at Wildair and The Ten Bells and runs the music and wine-focused party series, Beverages.”
The menu features a range of cuisine from tacos and pozole to enfrijoladas, tres leches, chapulines, and mole.
“The use of spices, herbs, and a variety of ingredients gives Puebla its reputation as a culinary treasure within Mexico,” reads The Zubador’s website.

“[Maria and Fernando’s] menu pays homage to the rich tapestry of traditional Pueblan family favorites, tried and tested over generations in their hometown and lovingly recreated here in New York.”
The Zumbador sets up shop on-site at the Queens-based club in Ridgewood, operating from Tuesday to Saturday until 10:30PM.
The restaurant opens tomorrow evening, November 8, for the first time. Check out the full menu from The Zubador here, and keep up to date on Nowadays here.
