Microsoft is reportedly working on a Wu-Tang Clan game

Microsoft is apparently working on a new Wu-Tang game for Xbox.

The RPG reportedly will mix elements of "Minecraft Dungeon gameplay within a Wu-Tang fantasy setting".

The game is said to be made by Xbox in collaboration with Brass Lion Entertainment. It will be a third-person RPG with up to four-player co-op and a focus on melee combat. The game involves looting, dungeon crawling, and an endgame focus.

This news has been reported by Jez Corden via the Xbox Two Podcast and Jeff Grubb of Games Beat.

According to Corden, the game's universe and plot will be based on "Wu-Tang Clan legend," and the game's soundtrack will be created by the Wu-Tang Clan themselves.

As Game Rant reports, Corden compares the Wu-Tang game's gameplay to Minecraft Dungeons as he elaborates on the Wu-Tang game's gameplay. He did state that he is unsure if the game will use an isometric perspective.

Corden also stated that the game is in “early” development, which implies that it is still years away from being close to release.

Xbox is reported to name the game Shaolin. This new game will not be a sequel to 1999's Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style. However, it is unknown whether the name for the new game is a reference to the previous one or just a reference to the group’s love for martial arts. This previous game garnered mixed reviews and received backlash from both fans and the hip hop group themselves.

The new game is allegedly being made with the help of Brass Lion Entertainment, who are a studio dedicated to creating games with a focus on "fictional universes that enter on Black, Brown, and other traditionally marginalized characters, cultures, and stories."

Recently, the anonymous owners of the only copy of Wu-Tang Clan’s 2015 album ‘Once Upon a Time in Shaolin’ have come forward after purchasing the record for $4 million from the federal government.

The purchasers, who wanted to stay unknown at the time, have now been revealed to be PleasrDAO, a group of 74 crypto enthusiasts who have built a reputation for buying digital art over the past year.

They have made a YouTube video detailing their story of how they bought the Wu-Tang album with cryptocurrency.

Jamis Johnson, the collective’s 34-year-old “Chief Pleasing Officer,” told Rolling Stone: “We want this to be us bringing this back to the people. We want fans to participate in this album at some level” unlike the previous owner Martin Shkreli who threatened to destroy the album on multiple occasions.
