Naz shares latest multimedia release on New Eden Records, 'Night Rider'

The third instalment of this style of releases, the track is accompanied by a linked story chapter and video, which contributes to a developing fantasy world

Naz has shared her latest release, 'Night Rider', featuring 88 Birds, via her own imprint New Eden Records.

The track models as a driving house cut with a pulsating bassline and sizzling his, as jangling piano phrases interject periodically throughout to showcase 88 Birds' soaring vocals.

In a rather unique manner, 'Night Rider' is the third of her releases linked to multimedia. With each new instalment on the label, Naz and her co-author John Carnes write a full chapter of the story the track tells, and share a music video clip illustrating each chapter as the book - the book being the record label - evolves. In turn, a fantasy storyline builds.

“There’s this thing that happens when I read - maybe it happens to everyone - where I disappear into the story," she tells Mixmag. "I see and hear and feel the way I would in the real world, only better. New Eden started with that idea; taking a fantasy world and making it more powerful and real.

"As a music producer, music is my passion. Making music is my peace and my oxygen. And since starting my music career, the goal has been to create a platform where I could have the freedom to release the music I make - and offer that same freedom to other artists. New Eden was always in the back of my mind. The storytelling and world building I was so in love with kept coming up - and I kept wanting to make it more real. So like any producer, I started to mix ideas.

"The writing process of mixing fantasy with music wasn’t easy - but when I started taking things a step further and incorporating the amazing VFX design of Jimmy Meneyerji (J1mmy), we suddenly had visuals that tied it all together and made the whole project tangible. The story, the world, the sights, the sounds. It’s become about hitting the senses while hitting your heart. We want people hearing the music, reading the story, and seeing those characters and worlds come to life - either at a New Eden show or in our New Eden VR spaces."

Later in 2024, a pop-up event concept is set to be launched to offer an entirely immersive space with visuals, live performances and VR stations, with the first fully formed New Eden book also scheduled for the final stages of the year.

In the meantime, though, 'Night Rider' featuring 88 Birds is available now. Check it out below.
