Glastonbury promises to book more women this year
It has also admitted to polluting a nearby stream in 2014
As the anticipation for the Glastonbury line-up builds, the festival has promised more female-led acts this year.
According to NME, only 3.5 per cent of festival acts in 2014 were all-female, compared to the 43 per cent of male acts, while female solo artists only made up 15 per cent of Glasto's 2014 line-up.
Responding to the study that revealed the figures, Glasto organiser Emily Eavis stated that women will be more prominent at the festival this summer.
Speaking to Noisey, she said: "We are strong on women this year, I have to say. There are loads of great female MCs coming through this year which is quite exciting. Little Simz (pictured) and Lady Leshurr and people like that."
Also promising to deliver a "broad and open" bill, this follows the festival admitting to causing damage to a stream near Worthy Farm in 2014.
Appearing at Yeovil Magistrates' Court, founder Michael Eavis admitted a charge of allowing human sewage to leak from a tank into a stream, apparently killing 42 fish.
BBC reports that a fine of anywhere between £20,000 to £300,000 could be due, depending on how serious the court decides the offence to be.
