Moon Boots discusses what inspires him in the studio and his evolution with a live band

The Anjunadeep affiliate shares all with Mixmag and AKG

Moon Boots sits down with Mixmag's On Rotation podcast to discuss the influences of his unique sound, what inspires him in the studio and the evolution of his creative output from DJ sets to performing with a live band.

This past October, Mixmag linked with AKG to bring six artists to Allaire Studios - a musical oasis located in Woodstock, New York - for an electronic music retreat. Isolated from the noise of the outside world and provided with a plethora of instruments, recording equipment and refined audio gear, this amiable retreat delivered an exercise in nurturing new musical epiphanies through the spirit of collaboration.

Among the artists who took part in the experience was Brooklyn-based producer, DJ and musician Moon Boots. During his time in college Moon Boots found himself devouring as much dance music as he could while simultaneously studying classic composition. The combination of the two led him to a develop a unique perspective on music production. He has since gone on to become one of the leaders of club culture, guiding dancefloors with his deep and profound sound.

Outside of the studio, Moon Boots had a chat with Mixmag's On Rotation podcast to chat about his journey finding a home within the Anjunadeep label, his opinions on listening to music the way the artist intended and discuss his experiences falling in love with dance music.
