Moog's new Subsequent 37 analogue synth is a beauty
It's packing more punch than its predecessor, too
Moog has moved from its Sub 37 synthesiser and replaced it with the Subsequent 37, an analog machine that features a host of new updates.
It’s based on the Subsequent 37 CV, a limited edition version made for this year’s Moogfest that included presets made by 808 State and Stranger Things soundtrack creators S U R V I V E. Only 2000 of them were made but now a full production version is retailing for $1,499.
The new version won’t come with the limited editions CV connections but it does beat its predecessor, the Sub 37, for power, offering a new range of tones and richer low end. With its black finish and wooden cheeks it has the Sub 37 beaten for looks as well.
Moog says it has also improved the ‘playability’ with an updated keybed. The synth will also come with a software plugin for Mac and Windows.
