Michael Eavis: "Glastonbury 2020 could be my last year"

Next year's headliners are already confirmed

Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis has suggested 2020 could be his last year organising the festival, although he did say the event's "still got a few years in it".

Speaking to the Guardian, Eavis said he could probably keep going for six more years but was unsure about what would happen after. "I think I can run on another six years, which would take me up to 50 years, then [I'll] see what happens after that.

"Every single person there last night [Saturday] wanted to shake my hand and say it's the best thing in their life. It really is quite phenomenal that appreciation of the event – 44 years and people love it more than ever."

He also stated that Glastonbury's next year off would be 2017 while revealing that next year's three headliners are already confirmed.
