Melbourne club The Bottom End relaunches
Sydney club stalwarts have taken over the venue's three floors
Melbourne club The Bottom End has relaunched over three floors under its new management by Sydney scene stalwarts.
Creative director of past Melbourne nights including Third Class, Sorry Grandma, Survivor and Poof Doof, Michael Delany has teamed with Nergal Youkana of Charades, Sydney, and Peter Shopovski of House of Mince, Sydney, on the venue.
The group have made the move south to Melbourne after being frustrated by Sydney's lockout laws which restrict entry times and alcohol service hours.
Clubbers will experience upgraded sound, production systems and interior design at the Collins St venue.
The middle floor is split into two rooms, 'Banana', with dancefloor space for 800, and 'Peach', with room for 250. Local and international DJs will play a regular Saturday night event with a six-week rotation of different promoters from around the city.
Meanwhile, 'FRANCIS28', a gay club programmed by Shopovski, has taken over the top floor, with his 'Pavlova Bar' night running each Saturday.
The ground floor is a burger joint named 'Easey's.'
