Smirnoff Sound Collective Artist: Shigeto
Meet Shigeto in the first Collective episode
By now, you've heard of the Smirnoff Sound Collective, an exciting new initiative from Smirnoff and Mixmag that brings together artists from all across the board to promote and celebrate diversity in the art of electronic music.
The artists brought on board were selected not only for their musical ability, but also for their backgrounds and stories that showcase a variety of races, genders and identities.
It's time to meet Zach Saginaw, more widely known as Shigeto, a Detroit-based producer who has leaned in on his deep musical knowledge to create sounds that range from jazz to sub-bass to ambient tunes and everything in between.
Beyond his innate musical talent, Shigeto (which is Zach's middle name) is also a Japanese American with a unique relationship to his heritage. Hear more about him and his story below in the first episode of 'Meet the Smirnoff Sound Collective' and stay tuned for more.
Find out more about Shigeto on SoundCloud, Facebook and Twitter.
