Japan-born, London/Bristol-based DJ Manami swings by Mixmag HQ this Friday for a one-hour takeover in The Lab. Manami takes influence from Bristol’s thriving bass scene as well as the darker spots for house and techno in London and even goes back to her roots as a classical pianist when searching for inspiration - all culminating in a truly unique sound that refuses to put Manami into a box.
To date, Manami has released on a hefty number of labels, toured alongside Bicep, and now hosts a regular residency on Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM. Along with DJ partner Anil, the producer also heads up the Bristol-based party Better Days which has welcomed in guests including Call Super, John Gómez, and Sassy J since its inception.
