Lord Apex releases new single ‘Pheonix’ featuring Freddie Gibbs

The new track is set to feature on Apex's upcoming album ‘The Good Fight’

Lord Apex has teamed up with US rap artist, Freddie Gibbs on a new single, ‘Pheonix’.

The West London rapper is set to release his latest studio album ‘The Good Fight’ next month with this new single featuring on the final project.

Produced by Argov, the track is mellow with lyrics touching on subjects of regret and change.

“The inspiration behind making ‘Phoenix’ was just because I felt I was rising out of the ashes of a volcano, I was going through so much while finishing the album," Apex explains.

According to a press release, this new single pays tribute to a cross-cultural scene that has helped shape his worldview and mindset.

This single marks Apex’s third release from the forthcoming album with him previously dropping ‘Smokers Lounge’ featuring US emo rap BONES and ‘Blessings’.

Since his breakthrough projects ‘Bamboo Forest’ and ‘Interplanetary Funk’, Apex also is a member of the music collective Elevation/Meditation alongside the likes of p-rallel, Finn Foxell and Louis Culture.

For Freddie Gibbs, this month marks a year since his last album '$oul $old $eperately' which included features from the likes of Rick Ross, Pusha T, Kaytranada, Anderson .Paak, Offset and more.
