Loraine James reveals new alias ‘Whatever The Weather’
Her new 11-track self-titled record will drop April 8 via Ghostly
Loraine James is bringing out music under a new alias: Whatever The Weather, with her next LP coming to Ghostly International this April.
The producer’s second alias will also see the release of her second LP, a self-titled release due to drop on April 8. The record will boast 11 tracks, one of which dropped on Wednesday, February 2, titled ‘17°C’.
“Thank you so much for the love of the first single ‘17°C’. started this album whilst finishing ‘Reflection’ and really can't wait to share it with you guys,” James said on her next release.

“There’s a song in there with a melody I made when I was 13 and finally used it in a song,” she added.
The record's lead single ‘17°C’ also arrived alongside a new music video on Ghostly directed by Michael Reisinger, filmed in Colorado's Great Sand Dunes.
Loraine James’ new project will see James shift from last year-released ‘Reflections’, her debut LP via Hyperdub honing in on darker electronics, to more rhythmic, choppy, and vocal cuts in ‘Whatever The Weather’.

James is also due to play her first show under the new moniker alongside Yraki at London’s Café OTO on April 7, just a day before the release of the next LP.
According to the producer, each track of the new release takes the name from different temperatures with songs replicating the mood.
