Liverpool F.C.'s new away kit pays homage to city's ‘90s dance music scene

The ‘dizzying’ new design is dedicated to Liverpool’s pioneering efforts in music

Liverpool F.C. has unveiled its brand new away kit for the 2022-2023 season honouring the pioneering efforts of Liverpool’s '90s dance music scene.

The new shirts, revealed in a campaign video by the football team, feature a ‘dizzying’ design with wavy, kaleidoscopic print all over. The iridescent design sits on top of a white background in a marbled print.

The kit was first debuted at the men’s pre-season fixture yesterday, July 12, in Bangkok, where the team lost 4-0 to fellow English giants Manchester United.

Speaking on the new design, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson said: “We’re excited for the fans to see the new away kit from Nike.

“It’s not often we get to wear a jersey on the day of the reveal, so it will be a special moment for the squad to show off the new design in our first pre-season fixture.”

According to Liverpool F.C.’s official website, each player’s name and number will be encased in a white block on the back to 'emphasise the individuality of each player.
