In addition to archival footage,The Upsetter includes interviews with Lough and Higbee in which Perry discusses his life.

The documentary is part of the newly produced "Roots & Revolution: Reggae on Film" collection, which also contains The Harder They Come, The Story of Lovers Rock, and other reggae and dub themed films.

Famed for his work with reggae stars such as Bob Marley and The Wailers, Perry was a key figure in popularising Jamaica's music all over the world.

Scratch used early remixing and studio experimentation to transform roots reggae tracks, influencing the creation of multiple dance music genres.

Perry died at a hospital in Lucea, Jamaica, in August at the age of 85.

This documentary describes Perry as a "force to be reckoned with".
