More than 1,000 Latitude Festival attendees have tested positive for COVID
150,000 people are thought to have attended the festival over the course of the four days
More than 1,000 people who attended Latitude Festival, one of the government’s COVID research events, have tested positive for COVID.
37,000 people are believed to have attended the festival daily from July 21 to 24. Suffolk has recently recorded a rate of 241 COVID cases per 100,000 people, with Stuart Keeble, the director of Suffolk Public Health, noting that COVID was “still circulating” in the county.

Bastille, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Chemical Brothers, and a host of others took the stage at Henham Park this year, with the event being one of the first large scale events after lockdown.
175 of the 1,050 people that tested positive for COVID after the festival were from Suffolk, with Keeble going on to say:
“As Suffolk reopens once again and people attend busy events or attractions, it's important that people continue to be considerate of others and wear a mask or keep their distance where appropriate."

Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Oliver Dowden was positive about the results of the large-scale testing events, but urged caution saying:
"But it is important that people remain cautious when mixing in very crowded settings."
