Kitty Amor launches record label Mahaba Music with new track, ‘Solitude’

The new imprint looks to “sonically connect the world”

Kitty Amor is set to launch her own record label later this month titled Mahaba Music, kicking off with a brand new single from the Afro house artist, ‘Solitude’.

The track lands on November 17 marking the first release on Mahaba, an Afro tech cut featuring punchy synthwork and an emotive top line.

Mahaba looks to “sonically connect the world”, pairing Kitty Amor’s expertise as a tastemaker and producer to create a hub for new and exciting music featuring both established and underground artists.

“I am excited to be creating a musical space for myself and upcoming artists to showcase our sound,” she says on the new label.

“As a passionate tastemaker, Mahaba is an outlet to express the global influences of an ever-growing sound in electronic music without feeling boxed in. Spreading the message of love and care, Mahaba is a label that desires to sonically connect the world.”

The launch of Mahaba follows a recent documentary based around Kitty’s rise to worldwide stardom, titled ‘Who’s Kitty Amor?’, released via Defected Records in September.

The documentary not only reflects Amor as a fierce hustler who seizes every opportunity, as verified by Kid Fonque and Simon Dunmore amongst others, but also at her most vulnerable and introspective as the DJ and producer opens up on her struggle to embrace her identity within a Christian household.

Kitty’s monthly Rinse FM residency also continues into 2024 with a newly extended show, where she’ll showcase the sound of Mahaba Music on the first Sunday of every month over the course of two hours.
