Kiddy Smile announces new EP and drops single 'The Devil Didn't Make Me Do It'

The track has been co-produced by Honey Dijon and Luke Solomon

Kiddy Smile has announced his forthcoming EP, 'Paris' Burning Vol.1', and released new single 'The Devil Didn't Make Me Do It' - the second release from the six-tracker which is due for release on June 10.

The single is co-produced by Honey Dijon, Luke Solomon, Tom Lariye and Julien Galner, providing explosive energy and hard-hitting drums and synths.

Announcing the release on his Instagram, Kiddy explained how the track is "pretty dark" but "carries the message that black and queer bodies were never the problem."

"Demonizing our identities was never the way to go because religion has always being about controlling people to fit a mold and most of the time a white cisgender straight mold," he added.

Kiddy's EP, 'Paris' Burning Vol. 1', sees the DJ, producer, vocalist and model project his love for nightlife, whilst also offering a deeply personal narrative and its accompanying videos with an aim to highlight societal problems including racism, homophobia and police brutality.

"This EP is an opportunity for me to address themes that are a little more personal and to present my view on society," he explains. "Musically, it is the fruit of friendly encounters and my desire to perpetuate the 'French Touch' tradition, a musical universe that takes its complete form with music videos emphasising certain societal dysfunctions.”

The release is Kiddy's first EP in four years, following 2018's debut 'One Trick Pony', which emerged two years after 2016's 'Let A Bitch Know' - a proud declaration of his own identity.
