G-TOWN Festival goes ahead in July as part of Galway International Arts Festival

KETTAMA and Shampain have teamed up to co-curate a new one-day event as part of Galway International Arts Festival this summer.

G-TOWN Festival will go ahead on July 23 spotlighting the best emerging and established talent from across Ireland, due to take place in Galway’s iconic Heineken Big Top.

The line-up for G-TOWN Festival has yet to be revealed but promises to shine a light on local talent, specifically in Galway, the hometown of both KETTAMA and Shampain.

The festival will also pull in a number of “special guests” and artists from the G-TOWN RECORDS roster, a Galway-based label launched by KETTAMA in 2021.

“Couldn’t be more stoked to finally share what we have been working on for such a long time behind closed doors,” KETTAMA said on Instagram. “After so much of time away it feels so special to be able to bring something back to where it all began.”

The event will go ahead during Galway International Arts Festival this summer, a multidisciplinary event including theatre, music, dance, comedy, and more in a two-week programme each July.

“Come along, make the pilgrimage, join us and be a part something special. And always remember a hangover lasts a day but memories last a lifetime,” KETTAMA added.

The DJ and producer also revealed that the new festival would conclude with “the afters to end all afters”, hinting to an extended event taking place after G-TOWN Festival.
