Kanye West confirms new release date for ‘Jesus Is King’
After multiple delays, the album is dropping this week
Kanye West has returned to Twitter to announce his ninth solo album comes out this Friday, October 25, after multiple delays.
In the early hours of Monday morning, West tweeted for the first time since January 1 to announce the release details for ‘Jesus Is King’.

His tweet included an image of his upcoming album pressed onto a blue vinyl.
A film will be released on the same day to accompany the album. Tickets are available via jesusisking.imax.com.
‘Jesus Is King’ was originally meant to drop on September 27, following a tracklist containing 12 songs posted by Kim Kardashian-West which featured that supposed release date. It was then set to arrive on September 29, which also did not materialise.

Indications look more promising this time. Music exec Bu Thiam has posted a video of Kanye grinning and riding a three-wheeled scooter on Instagram with the words: “When you finally finish your album” and the caption “Album coming this Friday. OCT25th”.

‘Jesus Is King’ is inspired by gospel music and his own Sunday Services. West described these weekly gatherings on My Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman by stating that they are “something where people can just come together and feel good with their families".
