Junior Simba gets focused with his new EP

The record is described as a "love letter" to a vehicle which has accompanied him throughout his musical career

Junior Simba has released his new EP, 'Focus'.

The five-tracker takes inspiration from precisely that - his Ford Focus - which he describes in a short explanatory video as the prime spot to test his tracks in:

The full record - housed on Cross Country Records - is a high-energy, ironically journey-like affair. House influences, broken beats, chopped-up vocals and throbbing basslines are rife throughout.

“Focus is named after the only car model I have ever owned," Junior explains. "It’s a love letter to the vehicle that has accompanied me to festivals, video shoots and many other life experiences! It’s also a note to self: to FOCUS!”

The drop of 'Focus' aligns with the beginning of a busy festival season for the Zimbabwe-born, Leeds-based producer and DJ. Fusing an array of soundscapes in his sets, he heads up northern event Sometimes We Party and will be playing at Glastonbury, Hideout Festival, Outernet London, Beat Herder Festival and Secret Garden Party amongst others.
