Joy Wellboy (Maceo Plex & Shall Ocin remix)

The last time we hosted a Joy Wellboy remix on the Mixmag SoundCloud, all hell broke loose. It was Dixon's remix of 'Before The Sunrise' and it's amassed nearly 300,000 plays since its upload.

Earlier in the year the BPitch Control duo released their second album and 'Wedding' is another fine example of the wonderfully poppy, instrument-led music that they conjure up.

One of the tracks from the album is called 'The Magic' and it's received a top notch remix package with edits from Phono, Fred P and Maceo Plex & Shall Ocin. We've got a premiere of the latter's remix and it's arguably the best of the bunch.

The Ellum boss has teamed up with fellow label-mate Shall Ocin for an atmospheric roller that proves that a little goes a long way. Ominous bass stabs alongside the original vocals are set against a formulaic yet highly effective main riff that pulsates and drives with menace. We rate this.
