Joe Rolét
The London selector comes charging in with a cosmic roller
More than ever now we're seeing record labels spring out of no-where and although some lack style and substance, some stand out among the rest. Planetary Notions is one imprint that has impressed us from the off and the best thing about it? They're only just getting started.
With a simple philosophy that focuses on large vinyl-only club tracks combined with sleek design, the cosmic, space-themed label is gearing up to release its second EP and once again, London selector Joe Rolét is at the helm.
Last year the producer dropped his debut EP on the label and we were lucky enough to premiere the lead cut 'Green Aid'. After a decent spree of gigs that included slots at Mixmag Live, Emerging Ibiza and Found NYE, he's been a busy boy. He's emerged from a long stint in the studio and now Rolét brings us 'Glacier Way'.
The track has already received support from Mathias Kaden and Shir Kahn and looks set to cause damage this summer. Rolling percussion and hard-hitting climaxes are spliced with intergalactic whirrings that transport you straight to another world. Some fresh tech here that needs to be filed under 'Chunk'.
Planetary Notions 002 will be released on vinyl on May 12, you can grab it from Juno here
