J.K. Rowling lends her hand to new comic compilation in honor of Pulse Nightclub
The anthology piece is in collaboration with the world's biggest illustrator
World famous author and creator of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling, has lent her talents to a new comic compilation as tribute to the victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting.
The 144-page Love Is Love is a series of pieces featuring classic characters and is a collaboration between multiple authors and famed former Marvel Comics illustrator and DC Comics co-publisher, Jim Lee.
The collection contains narratives with the Harry Potter figures, as well hundreds of stories with the likes of Batman, Superman, Archie and Wonder Woman from other authors like Phil Jimenez, Steve Sadowski, Paul Jenkins, Mike Carey, Matt Wagner and Brandon Peterson.
J.K. Rowling allowed Lee to create original drawings of her signature characters and use one of Dumbledore's most celebrated quotes: "Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open".
Rowling's stories have held consistent themes of inclusivity and unity, with characters coming from different, often marginalized backgrounds. The author's iconic Dumbledore, who identifies as gay, frequently spoke to the topic of equality and importance of working together.
Love Is Love is available for pre-order now with all proceeds going to Equality Florida, an organization solely funding support for the victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting.
