Industry leaders use #WeDanceWeVote to encourage voter turnout

Creating awareness for a critical election taking place in the US today

Leaders of the dance music industry are using the hashtag #WeDanceWeVote to rally the general public of the United States to exercise their right to influence the historic election that is taking place today.

The sudden rush of social media activity is unsurprising as a multitude of musicians and DJs have been vocal about the importance of this race throughout the election process. Many have gone so far as to voice their opinion on who their favorite or least favorite candidate is. Recently, techno pioneers Underground Resistance shared their distaste for Donald Trump, while Moby called the Republican candidate “the worst of the worst”.

Mixmag offered an analysis on Why EDM hates Donald Trump and Aphex Twin helped raise awareness by sharing a bizarre video of the candidates.

Today, artists like Mija, Kaskade, D∆WN, Diplo, the Dirtybird crew, Destructo, Salva and many more have all shared #WeDanceWeVote in hopes of getting more people out to the polls. Even Alison Wonderland, who can’t vote because she’s Australian, is recognizing the importance of this election and is urging her fans to vote.
