Her Damit Festival near Berlin postponed due to "high risk of forest fires"
Organizers are currently checking on new dates for the festival
The techno and house music event Her Damit Festival, which was set to take place in an ex-military outpost 50 kilometers north of Berlin on June 8-10, has been postponed due to a "high risk of forest fires in the area."
The announcement was made on the festival's Facebook page, which stated that authorities sent festival organizers an e-mail which claimed that the state of Brandenburg has currently reached the "highest level of forest fire warnings, due to the ongoing heatwave." As a result, the organizers have been forced to postpone the festival - which may very well result in its cancelation.
Artists who were billed to play the fourth edition of this intimate festival included DJ Boring, Kobosil, Shed, Roman Flügel and Bambounou among others. A new date has not yet been announced, but festival organizers are asking their attendees to give them "a few more days" to check a new date before asking for ticket refunds. They end their announcement with their apologies and the simple yet important reminder that "we are powerless against nature."
