Glastonbury to pay tribute to David Bowie

The festival plans to pull out all the stops to honor the late legend

Glastonbury Festival, set to take place across four days in late June, is readying a serious series of tributes to honor the late David Bowie.

"We’re doing several tributes to David Bowie," festival organizer Emily Eavis said. "We’re speaking to several members of his band who played here with him in 2000 and everybody’s got lots of ideas. We’re trying to do something that is in keeping with him and us and his history here. So it’s not going to be a massive all-star tribute, but it’s going to be something really personal and something that will mean a lot to people here."

Eavis refused to reveal further details, so it remains to be seen which artists will be given the important task of delivering a tribute worthy of Bowie.

Whispers have begun to circulate that Coldplay may receive surprise guest Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees during their set at Glastonbury as one of the Bowie tributes.
