GiGi FM announces forthcoming EP ‘Movimiento’ via her Sea~rène imprint

GiGi FM has announced her forthcoming EP 'Movimiento', set for release on June 7.

The record is the second release on her Sea~rène imprint, launched to "propel the limits" and move beyond a standard techno outlet. Each release expresses a set thematic ideal - with debut ‘Kiwi Synthesis Diary Vol. 2’ taking upon a journal-like role - and 'Movimiento' models as an exchange between GiGi FM and the dancer.

It meanders through a sensory journey with the intention to affect listeners' physical and mental states, embodying the interplay between contrasting notions of movement and stillness and dark and light. Lead single 'Gabriella', available now, particularly draws upon this with its driving kick juxtaposing its warm keys.

Further into the EP, 'Awakening The World's Heart' plays with thoughtless drift and release, 'Tempelhof' nods to her home of Berlin whilst emphasising the importance of place to the way in which we move, and 'Lucid Dreaming' taps into the dreamstate, intending to stimulate internal feelings into external expressions.

"I have really poured parts of myself into this EP," GiGi FM tells Mixmag, "'Gabriella' being the first example as it is referring to my third name and a homage to my musical and dancer upbringing. To me, 'Movimiento' really embodies the conversation between the music and the dancer, where each track serves as a call to explore new realms of emotional and physical expression. I wanted to create an immersive dance experience that resonates with the soul and transforms the dancefloor."
