Funeral held for Motion ahead of Bristol nightclub's final party this weekend
The beloved nightclub will close its doors for the last time this weekend after 19 years
The team behind Bristol's Motion held a funeral service for the nightclub last week, as the beloved institution prepares to host its final party this weekend.
The service was held outside the venue, which is located on Avon Street close to Temple Meads Station, on Thursday (10); members of the public were invited to pay their respects to the long-running nightclub, which will close this weekend after 19 years.

In videos posted on TikTok, mourners dressed in black are seen watching on as a "hearse" is carried out of the venue; the funeral was complete with floral tributes, an order of service booklet and tissues were handed out to attendees.
Motion will hold its last parties this weekend; the first being a free-to-attend day rave on Saturday (19 July) entitled The Finale – which will take over the venue's three outdoor spaces.

From 6:PM, Motion will kick off its 24-hour closing party: Just Jack x Motion: The Final Dance. Reviving the foundational Bristol club night for the last time, the party will see sets from old-and-new club favourites, including A Love From Outer Space (AKA Sean Johnston), Luke Una, Chaos in the CBD, Steffi x Virginia and more.
