Franky Wah to showcase massive new mixtape

It's a record full of unreleased music with plenty of collaborations to boot

Fast-rising dance star Franky Wah returns with a new 27-track mixtape called ‘This Is SHÈN’ this month.

“This mixtape was a project that initially started out as 8 tracks," he explains. "Through multiple rounds of revisions, 8 tracks then turned into 27 as I had so much music that I was sitting on. I’ve been playing most of these records in my sets for a while now.”

The project drops via SHÈN Recordings on November 25th and this seamless mix of unreleased music features collaborations with Sasha (‘I’ll Never Change’ (SHÈN Edit), Robinson, Luisant and Brighton-based singer/songwriter Lunar June, who has one of the mix tape highlights with their song ‘Losing Sleep.’

We asked Lunar June how she came into Franky’s orbit and this is what she had to say:

“Franky and I sent some ideas back and forth early in 2021,” she explained. “I sent him the topline for ‘Losing Sleep’ and he replied with “This is it!”. A few months later I was singing our track for the first time at XOYO, a few months after that we were at EartH in Hackney and then this summer I rocked up for a very last-minute show to perform at All Points East in Victoria Park. It’s been a wild journey so far!”

Lunar June also releases her own EP featuring ‘Lean On’ on November 17th, and you can pre-order Wah's mixtape here.
