Four Tet and Ellie Goulding collab on new single ‘In My Dreams’
The longstanding collaborators land on Three Six Zero Recordings
Long-standing collaborators Four Tet and Ellie Goulding have returned with a new standalone single on Three Six Zero Recordings, ‘In My Dreams’.
Merging Four Tet's vibrant, uplifting production with Goulding’s soft vocals, the new track marks their first collaboration in more than four years.
The last time the pair worked together was back in 2020 with the release ‘Baby’, which featured on Four Tet's album ‘Sixteen Oceans’.

More recently, in 2022, Goulding invited Four Tet to remix her track ‘Easy Lover’, which went on to earn him a GRAMMY nomination for Best Remixed Recording.
Four Tet, AKA Kieran Hebden, has been teasing the new release with the singer all year, most recently at his all-day set at Finsbury Park in August.
Speaking on the track, Kieran says: “At the end of last year, Ellie texted me with a couple of voice notes for a song idea. Words and melodies she was singing into her phone, and she asked me if I could use them to make something."

"She’s told me in the past she likes to send me vocals that I can just use as sound and turn into whatever I want (which is how our song ‘Baby’ happened a few years ago)."
He continues: “I found other noises to go with it and made ‘In My Dreams.’ She added some new vocal parts, but we ended up keeping the voice note recordings as the main vocal. I guess the first take is often the most magical. I wanted to make something that was all about juxtaposing harsh, aggressive sound with the delicate and intimate.”
