EXIT Festival to issue NFT tickets in partnership with NFT-TiX for 2023 event

The Serbian festival becomes the first of its size to use blockchain technology

Serbia’s EXIT Festival has teamed up with NFT-TiX, a ticketing platform built on Ethereum blockchain, to issue NFT tickets for this year’s event.

The festival is said to be the first music event of its scale to launch NFT ticketing, following similar projects by the likes of Swedish House Mafia and Coachella in 2021.

Taking place from July 6 - 9 this year in Serbia’s Novi Sad, EXIT Festival welcomes 200,000 guests annually into the Petrovaradin Fortress. This year’s headliners include The Prodigy, Skrillex, and Wu-Tang Clan.

EXIT’s link-up with NFT-TiX is a first of its kind, and will allow for the sale of tickets on a decentralised ticketing platform. The festival first launched NFT ticketing in 2022 making it one of the first major music events to do so, a project that won the UK Festival Innovation Award.

The collaboration between the two will see the launch of an event series from the team behind EXIT. In addition to regular NFT tickets, the festival will also issue ‘never seen before’ ultra VIP tickets priced at €10,000.

The ultra VIP tickets will give fans a ‘unique’ festival experience including a personal host, meet & greets, access to VIP GOLD zones at the festival’s main stage, and onstage tickets at the Dance Arena. Ticketholders will also gain access to a number of VIP lounges.

EXIT Festival’s project with NFT-TiX has been shortlisted for the DISRUPTOR Award at the Ticketing Business Awards. The project is said to be a ‘leading example’ of innovative ticketing solutions needed to ‘meet the demands’ of today’s festivalgoers.
