Lo-fi’s favourite sitcom character is back
Since forcing himself into the conscience of underground dance music with last year’s ‘You’ll Understand’ EP, Ross From Friends is firmly established as one to watch.
Keen on vintage 808s and hip hop-esque sampling, the Colchester-native is a leading light in the woozy, lo-fi house scene and has released on equally minded labels Lobster Theremin and its sub-label Distant Hawaii.
Now he can add Lone’s label Magicwire to his accomplishments, an imprint that’s been on fire with releases like Bruce Trail's 'Ravine Dream' EP. Within that was 'Bridgework' that made it into our top 100 tunes of 2016.
Ross From Friends' The ‘Outsiders’ EP is Magicwire’s second drop this year and features six tracks. From the basement acid of the title track to the '90s tropical of ‘Romeo Romeo’ and the washy melodies of ‘Crimson’, it’s a quintessential lo-fi release.
