Erick Morillo’s death ruled as accidental drug overdose
The preliminary autopsy report says Morillo died of "acute ketamine toxicity"
Erick Morillo’s death has been ruled as accidental in a preliminary report by the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner Department.
Mixmag has obtained a copy of the report, which says Morillo died of "acute ketamine toxicity". It also lists intoxication from MDMA and cocaine as contributory causes to his death.
The preliminary autopsy was carried out by Dr. Emma O. Lew on September 2. It states: “On the basis of investigation the probable manner of death: Accident”.
Erick Morillo was found dead on the morning of September 1 in his Miami Beach home.
He had been due in court on September 4 to face charges related to committing sexual battery on a woman, and since his death at least 10 more women have come forward with accusations of rape and sexual assault against the New York-born DJ.
The autopsy case is not yet closed, and a final report is expected within the next fortnight.
