Enei feat Charlie Brix - 9/10

The finest Russian producer in the game returns with the first single from his forthcoming second album 'Rituals' – and it's something of a curveball. There can't be a discerning junglist whose shins haven't buckled under the stop-start force of an Enei tech howitzer – but here we're all agog as honeydew vocals ease out from between the fronds of some delightfully delicate opening liquid breaks. No danger, of course, of the potent steel not shining through – at the drop we're suddenly pinned by a devilishly tight lick of warping bassline tremors, which pulse and groove as the Riya-esque crooning circles above. It's magnetic, delicious funk from a top gun.
