Emily Eavis addresses Glastonbury ticket price hike "We tried hard to minimise the increase"
The 2023 edition of the festival will cost £335 per ticket, a 26% increase
The price of a Glastonbury ticket has risen by 26% concerning many avid festival-goers with Emily Eavis blaming "challenging times" for the increase.
Tickets from general sale in 2020 had been priced at £265 with a £5 booking fee, with a minor rise to £280 due to inflation when the event hit resale in 2022. But for the 2023 edition tickets will cost £335 plus the £5 booking fee.
Festivalgoers have taken to socials to share concerns over the hike, with on Twitter user saying: “I love Glastonbury, but for many people this is just unaffordable at this time”.

Another user said: “get that Glastonbury is a huge endeavour, that costs for everything are rising and that the festival industry as a whole is struggling after COVID but with ticket prices up to £340pp (before food, travel, drink) it's clear the festival is now almost exclusively for the wealthy”
Co-organiser Emily Eavis responded to the announcement via Twitter: “We have tried very hard to minimise the increase in price on the ticket but we’re facing enormous rises in the costs of running this vast show, whilst still recovering from the huge financial impact of two years without a festival because of COVID.
“The £50 deposit on ticket sales day in November will be the same as ever, with the balance not due until April. And, as always, there will be opportunities for many thousands of people to come as volunteers or as part of the crew.

The 2023 edition of Glastonbury festival will run from June 21 to 25 with general tickets on sale on November 6 at 9:AM.
