Elrow cancels Friends & Family festival due to local council disagreement
The event will be replaced by a new party at Barcelona’s Row 14 in July
Barcelona-based party brand elrow has cancelled its first ever Friends & Family festival which would have taken place on July 15 in Salou.
According to elrow’s Facebook, the 20,000-capacity event had to be cancelled due to “recent controversy” between local councils in Salou and Vila-Seca, who did not want the event to take place within the Tarragona province.
Elrow justified its decision to cancel by stressing how it “strives to have a perfect working relationship with the authorities and politicians at its events”.
In place of the festival, elrow will hold a seventh anniversary party on the same day at its club, Row 14 in Viladecans, Barcelona. The line-up will also remain the same, seeing the likes of Adam Beyer, Guy Gerber, wAFF, Steve Lawler and Jackmaster take to the decks.
Elrow has also offered to accept refunds or for customers to exchange tickets for entry to the new party.

"We regret to announce the cancelation of our upcoming festival Friends & Family. Due to the recent controversy between the local councils, shown publicly in many local newspapers headlines, we have been recommended to cancel the event in order to not contribute any further to the political tension. elrow always strives to have a perfect working relationship with the authorities and politicians at our events. Once arrived at this point, we have no other choice but to regrettably take this decision. It was our and the local councils interest to bring a world class festival to the area."
