East London venues Boat Live and Boat Shed forced to close immediately
The news comes “sooner than we predicted”, with all scheduled events moving to different venues
East London venues Boat Live and Boat Shed have been forced to close immediately due to “unforeseen circumstances”
Situated near Hackney Wick Overground station, Boat Live was opened in 2021, and has seen a number of artists involved in the underground house and techno scene play since it has been open including Voigtmann, Bobby., Jane Fitz and Unai Trotti.
Its Boat Live name comes from its situation within a houseboat, which used to operate around East London’s waterways, but was docked on the White Post Lane site after its owner Antonio Miranda searched for a permanent home for the canal-faring venue.

The team behind the venue had recently opened a new space, called Boat Shed, on the same plot as Boat Live, which had its opening party just over a month ago over the Halloween weekend (October 29).
In a statement on Instagram, Boat Live and Boat Shed wrote: “We are devastated to announce, that due to unforeseen circumstances, Boat Live Works and Boat Shed will be moving sooner than we predicted.
“We are of course heartbroken to see this premature end after all our team’s hard work this year. Moving forward, any events scheduled will take place from a set of new exciting venues and sites we have already begun developing,” it continued.

“With that said, we would like to thank everyone who’s supported our time at White Post Lane. It’s been a pleasure making this a beloved space for Hackney Wick and our community.
“Please see individual promoters for details and stay tuned here. We’re looking orward to a bright and more diverse future than we could have imagined.
“Thank you all for your ongoing love. The Boat Live team.”
