Earthcore organisers make statement after dust settles on festival

They say they'll be posting international bank transfers of certain artists that claimed they hadn't been paid

Earthcore organisers have broken their silence after the dust settled on the weekend's camping festival, and a cancelled Sydney leg, which was hit by mass cancellations and accusations of not paying artists.

In a lengthy post to Facebook, organisers wrote about their struggles to secure a new site and the required permits after the local council retracted their existing permit for the original site at Pyalong, Victoria.

"After all this, we then were attacked by a very well planned smear campaign by international artist Coming Soon who advertised that our event was cancelled using our own festival flyer with the words cancelled scrawled across it," the post reads.

"It's noted that Coming Soon had agreed to terms and had no legal reason to announce they were cancelled or the event was cancelled. This incredible advertised campaign by Coming Soon then lead (sic) to a series of acts simply cancelling their performances and keeping huge volumes of money and scapegoating our festival as the excuse of their cancellation."

The post apologises for "certain artist cancellations" but states of others "we will be posting the international bank transfers of certain artists for all to see how much money they simply kept and refused to even play one show."

Meanwhile, Fairfax Media reports there were several alleged sexual assaults at the Victorian camping festival, held at Elmore, including a 23-year-old man from Dandenong who was arrested following alleged indecent assaults against women.

Police are also investigating a separate report of a sexual assault, according to the paper.
