DJ Spinna in the Lab LDN
The hip hop and house don kicks off an extended Lab LDN session this Friday from 4.30pm GMT
The Lab LDN is our weekly office rave up powered by Void Acoustics where we live stream some of the biggest and best names in dance music from genres across the board. This Friday from 4.30pm GMT we welcome the don that is DJ Spinna.
Over the years not many DJs have managed to bridge hip hop and house so seamless as Spinna. Originally from New York, Spinna grew up in in a time when he had to earn his stripes bouncing between block rocking hip hop parties in Brooklyn and the notorious sounds of Larry Levan at The Paradise Garage.
He has worked with everyone from Masta Ace and Guru from Gang Starr, J Dilla and Jazzy Jeff to Joe Claussell, Kenny Dope and Osunlade.
Spinna returns to the fray this month as he releases his first ever full retrospective of his career as a house music producer on the legendary BBE label. The compilation features edits of the genre's greats including Kerri Chandler, Karizma and Black Coffee.
Expect a serious dose of house and hip hop from 4.30pm GMT this Friday and Spinna will be closely followed by Bass Culture head honcho D'julz in The Lab LDN. Tune in below or on MixmagTV.
