DJ Deeon launches crowdfund after suffering multiple mini strokes

The ghetto house pioneer is offering rewards, such as unreleased music and merch, for donations

DJ Deeon has set up a crowdfund to raise money after suffering prolonged health issues which have hampered his ability to earn an income.

The ghetto house pioneer is offering rewards for tiered levels of donations, ranging from a folder of unreleased edits and mixes to a private gig. Further rewards include merchandise (see below), a video message, his Bandcamp back catalogue, and a remix of your track.

DJ Deeon said: “I'm not one to ask for help - it doesn’t sit comfortably with me - and i believe you should never get something for nothing so here I am offering to you what I can. Unreleased remixes, Back Catalogue Material, Exclusive Merch, Video messages, Remixes you name it.”

On the Crowdfunder post, DJ Deeon details medical issues he has been through which have held him back in his music career, including quadruple bypass heart surgery, cancer and chemotherapy, and the amputation of one of his legs.

He also says he suffered a mini stroke on Boxing Day 2018, and has suffered multiple more mini strokes since.

These health problems have forced him into cancelling gigs and disrupted his music work during recovery periods, and this has been further exacerbated by the economic crisis of the coronavirus pandemic.
