Discwoman links with Allergy Season for protest compilation
With Jayda G, UMFANG, Person of Interest and more supplying tracks
Curated in collaboration with Brooklyn-based collective Discwoman, the Allergy Season label has released a new compilation, ‘Physically Sick’, in protest of the current political climate.
Featuring 42 tracks from artists like Octo Octa, Jayda G (pictured), Via App, and J. Albert among others, the compilation was organized by UMFANG and Frankie Hutchinson of Discwoman, along with label regular Max McFerren and founder Physical Therapy who also supply tracks of their own.
The description of ‘Physically Sick’ outlines the vision for why this compilation is needed at such a crucial time: “There is a fetid smell, the pollen of hatred and bigotry, wafting through the air and our allergies are acting up. While there's no known cure, we've come up with something to treat the symptom, a healthy dose of electronic protest music, a middle finger from the underground to the future powers-that-be.”
The profits collected from the sale of the compilation will go directly to various charities “who oppose the hateful policies of the incoming administration”, including The American Civil Liberties Union, Callen-Lorde, The National Immigration Law Center, and Planned Parenthood.
